Recommended text: If you leave a comment on our site, you can choose to have your name, email address, and website address stored in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you don’t have to re-enter your information when you leave another comment. These cookies are stored for one year.

If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine whether your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is deleted when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will store several cookies to save your login information and screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for one year. If you select the “Remember Me” option, your login will remain active for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

Embedded content from other sites

Recommended text: Articles on this site may contain embedded content (such as videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other sites behaves in the same way as if the visitor had visited the other site.

These sites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with the embedded content. If you have an account and are logged in to that site, your interaction with the embedded content may be tracked.

Who we share your data with

When you request a password reset, your IP address is added to the reset email.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users who create an account on our site, we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile (if applicable). All users can view, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except for changing their username). Site administrators can also view and edit this information.

If you have an account or comments on this site, you may request to receive the personal data we hold about you in a file, along with the data you have provided to us. You may also request that we delete all personal data we hold about you. The data to be deleted does not include data that we are required to retain for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Where your data is sent

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
